As JKU is a campus university, this means that many students live around campus. Due to that, there is a very active campus life, and you will meet plenty of other students as soon as you leave your apartment. But which are the most popular places to live around campus? Here is the answer:

Julius Raab Heim
Julius Raab Heim is the largest dorm in Linz and the dorm where most exchange students will live. They offer single and double rooms with a shared kitchen for each floor, and a triple flat where a single and double room share the kitchen and bathroom. On each floor there is a common room where students meet, especially exchange students always like to pre-drink and cook together there. The washing machines are located in the basement of the dorm. It is located a 10 minute walk away from university. One speciality: This dorm is also a hotel, which means they have a 24h porter. On the ground floor of the dorm there is a restaurant and a bar. In the rooms you will get access to the JKU Wi-Fi, but as you won’t have access to it before the Meet & Greet, bringing a Ethernet cable is highly recommended.

The washing machine and dryer are located in the basement. In this dorm you have to buy your own blanket and pillow. The rooms you do not have access to Wi-Fi, so your laptop should have a port for an Ethernet cable. At night you need a key to have access to the dorm, so take good care of it.

This dorm also has access to JKU WI-FI, but the connection is not that good, so an Ethernet cable would be also useful in this dorm.
